Mihalic - Wolf 1889 - 1959
Education:
Provisional College of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb, 2 terms
at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb.
Biography: At the age of 14, she left Virovitica for Zagreb.
She lived with her grandmother in Vlaška Street. Together
with primary school, she received primary music education
which made her a music lover and connoisseur until the end
of her life. After finishing her studies in 1912, she received
a "Qualification Certificate" to work as a primary
school teacher. After a further two terms at the Faculty
of Philosophy in Zagreb, in 1913 she was awarded a certificate
to teach drawing in all classes, and "geometrical"
drawing in lower forms of secondary schools. She worked
in the Women's College, and, from 1921 until she retired
in 1946, at the First Women's Secondary school in Zagreb.
At the age of 26, (1915) she married the mathematics teacher
Hinko Wolf. In spite of three children and teaching which
made many generations of students interested in artistic
expression, she never lost her love of painting, but most
of her works were created before the birth of her first
child, in 1916, and after she retired.
