Biography: After her marriage to the sea captain Pero Jakšic from Lapad, a part of Dubrovnik, she soon became a wealthy childless widow. She lived as a modest vegetarian, with painting as her only passion, and became well known as a benefactrice, not only to individuals in need. In her will she left her Villa Flora in the bay of Lapad to artists for their exhibitions and recess, and her bigger house with a garden, to the parish of St Michael. Her life ended tragically. In May 1943, on her way to Lapad, she was run over by an Italian army motor cycle. (She was the aunt of the painter Frano Šimunovic.
