KLIS, a small town in the hinterland of
Split, at a pass between Mosor and Kozjak,
9 km northeast of Split; elevation 150
m; population 2,320. The core of the town
is situated below a mediaeval fortress.
Economy is based on farming, fruit and
vegetable growing. Klis is located at
