Basic Activities
(Articles 171 and 1972 of the Nature Protection Law, Official
Gazette no. 162/2003)
The Institution governs the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. It
carries out the activities of protecting and conserving,
maintaining and promoting Lonjsko Polje Nature Park in order
to protect and preserve the nature in all its authenticity,
to make sure that natural processes can unfold without hindrance
and that natural assets are used in a sustainable way, as
well as constituting an arm of the civil service to control
the implementation of the prescribed conditions and the
measures of nature conservation. |

- the protection of the plant and animal world, the soil,
water, landscape, cultural heritage and other important
features of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park
- maintenance, promotion and presentation of the nature
park as a special natural phenomenon
- receiving, guiding, sightseeing and transportation for
visitors of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park
- the supervision and organisation of scientific research
work in the area of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park
- the promotion of sustainable development, of traditional
agriculture and the architectural heritage
- food preparation and provision of food, preparation and
serving of drinks and beverages
- provision of accommodation
- provision of services in farmhouse, healthcare, conference,
sporting, hunting and other forms of tourism, the provision
of other tourist services
- production, processing and preservation of meat and meat
products
- the processing and preservation of fruit and vegetables
- the production of dairy products
- the production of millers’ products, starch and starch
products
- the production of other food products
- the purchase and sale of commodities
- money exchange matters
