Klis
Historical fortress in a little village with the same name, very important in medieval Croatian history is a great place to spend few hours of your day.

Situated between two mountains Kozjak and Mosor, Klis was for centuries a fortress important for Split region. During its turbulent history Klis was was sanjak centre in Province of Bosnia during Ottoman rule, also ruled by Kingdom of Bosnia, Venetian Republic and Austria-Hungary.
Except it historical importance Klis is famous for excellent lamb specialities popular among Split citizens.
