Krka Waterfalls
          National Park

Truly unique nature experience is a short description of Krka waterfalls. Situated an hour and half drive from Villa PaPe is must see! Enjoy a daily boat trip around the park and see its rich and diverse animal and plant life.


The best way to see the National Park Krka is to take a boat tour from Skradinski Buk one of the most attractive parts of the park. The tour includes visiting Roški Slap, popular waterfall and island Visovac. Visovac is a small island where Roman Catholic Monastery Visovac can be visited. The monastery founded by the Franciscans in 1445 and has a little museum where you can see scripts written in old Croatian alphabet Glagoljica. Besides Franciscan monastery, an interesting historical site you can visit in the park is the Serb Orthodox Monastery Krka founded in 1345.

Parks natural beauty and diversity can be seen through eight hundred and sixty species and subspecies of plants, including several endemic Illyrian-Adriatic species. Eighteen species of fishes inhabit the Krka River, among which ten are endemic; while 222 various species of birds make Krka National Park among the ornithological most valuable regions of Europe.
